“I am honored and excited to join the Rashkis Elementary School community as principal. I believe the principalship is founded on service, on being present in the daily life of the school, and on building relationships. Strong relationships are built on trust that grows when people feel heard, supported, and known. I care deeply about student growth and strong academic outcomes, and I believe that students should have opportunities to develop communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills that will serve them beyond their time as a Raptor. Most importantly, I am committed to reducing and eliminating opportunity gaps in our community and to fostering an environment where students and staff feel a true sense of belonging.”

At home, my wife, Meredith (a Tar Heel grad), and I stay busy with our son, Thomas, and daughter, Maxwell Kate (“MK”), along with a dog and a cat. Outside of school, I enjoy reading and listening to audiobooks, weightlifting, spending time outdoors with my family, exploring the many unique towns and areas in our great state, and rooting for several sports teams, including ECU Football, the Carolina Hurricanes, and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Beverly Beckwith | Assistant Principal

Greetings Everyone,

I have enjoyed working alongside the teachers and staff to continue the legacy of success established by Rashkis. I have done this by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. My goal has been to ensure all children are happy, healthy, and safe so they may learn as much as they can. This has been my philosophy since I began teaching, and it continues to be my philosophy.

I have been an educator for over 20 years. I believe in building true relationships with staff, students, parents, and community members. It is my belief that all students can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially when given the proper support.

I look forward to working together with you as a team to help each student at Rashkis meet their goals and have a successful school experience.

Best Regards,
Beverly Beckwith
